Senior Pastor - Pastor Wade Floyd
Pastor Wade is a native Texan who grew up mainly in the Katy/Houston area, and is a huge Astros fan! His wonderful wife’s name is Julie. Julie is from Wisconsin originally, they met and married while living in Colorado, and got to Texas shortly thereafter. Together they have two awesome, energetic little boys. They are both church babies, love to be around people, and are happy to have so many new friends to meet and play with.
This his fifth year under appointment. Previously he worked and volunteered in youth ministry for about 10 years, and has other ministry and work experiences. He graduated from UT-San Antonio, with a degree in business management. He also has two master degrees, a MA in Leadership from Denver Seminary and an MDiv, aka the “pastor’s degree”, from United Theological Seminary. His hobbies include: spending time with Julie, playing with their boys, eating a tasty meal, playing board/card games, hunting, fishing, writing, reading, going to the movies, and watching/playing sports.
Pastor Wade is here to serve and is all about us doing this thing we call church and faith together. With this in mind he wants you to know that his door is always open, he seeks to be open and available as much as possible, and will do all he can as the shepherding leader of FUMC. If you ever need something you can email him.
Secretary - Ronica Johnson
Ronica came to us in 2013 as our church Secretary. Ronica graduated from The University of Houston Victoria and taught 7th grade at Bay City Jr. High. If she's not at the church, you can find her listening to Audio Books, working in her yard, or spending time with her family and her dog.
Sunshine and Rainbows Director - Jill Sims
First of all, I am a lifelong resident of Bay City and will always be a proud Blackcat!
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher “when I grew up” and have always had a love for Education even as a young girl playing “school” with my friends and even teaching my dolls!
I began my education in Bay City ISD schools and graduated from BCHS in 2002, earned my Associates degree from WCJC in 2004, and then earned my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education) from Texas State University - San Marcos in 2006. I am Certified for Early Childhood Education through 8th grade. After graduating, I returned home and began my 12 year teaching career with BCISD in 2007. I taught 4th and 5th grade Reading, Writing & Social Studies at Bay City Middle School for 4 years. I then spent 8 years at Linnie Roberts Elementary teaching 3rd grade all subjects for 2 years and 6 years teaching 4th grade Math & Science.
My boyfriend of 5 years, Michael Polachek is also a Bay City Native. We have 3 Fur-Babies: a Lab, Buoy and 2 Dachshunds, Daisy and Skoaly. Michael is a teacher and coach in Van Vleck.
My parents are Jan and Jerry Fritzsching who are also long time residents of Bay City!
I have been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since I was a young child and regularly attend our Women’s Bible Study, Women of Faith Conferences and help as a Leader in our Vacation Bible School.
In my spare time I enjoy all kinds of crafting including crocheting, scrapbooking, and painting. I also like reading, watching tv and movies, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
I am looking forward to this new adventure working with the staff, parents, and precious little students at Sunshine and Rainbows! My prayer is that we can educate our students while also instilling a love for Christ!
